Prom Eyes

Hi peepz!
Its prom season and you know what that means.... You may need a few quick tips, tricks and ideas to give you a bit of inspiration :) well all help is at hand !
Here I have a 3 quick and easy eye make-up looks to suit each different eye color and compliment your dress :)

WARNING: some images may contain glitter explosives

        Costa Espresso
This is a smokey brown look that subtlety blends champagne tones and deep golds to make for a very     natural approach to prom make-up and goes beautifully with brown eyes. This look is super versatile and can softly compliment a long red gown, deep purples and taupe s.

        Under 'da Sea

So this one is perfectly suited to blue and hazel eyes! The sea foam greens and blue toned taupe's work together in perfect harmony and I couldn't help but add some sparkle as it is prom! This is actually rather soft and subtle on the eyes from a far so don't worry you don't look like a drag queen :) I think this would go beautifully with a light blue dress!

     Fairy Dust

Ok so this one is NOT for the faint hearted and admittedly one of the most outrageous! However if your up for a bit of va-va voom to excite a plain dress then perhaps this is the one!! Begin with your lilac base and blend a deep purple into crease and flick up and out (like a cat!) meoww :) Then go wild with glitter liner and you're good to go! This also looks amaze on brown eyes too!!

TOP TIPS

  • Pile on your mascara but AVOID CLUMPS
  • AVOID liquid or gel eye liners as they cause a huge mess if go wrong!!
  • Try using pencil liner as this can be smudged for a more natural look
  • Apply concealer after eyes to clean up
  • PRIME!!
  • If you don't fancy eye shadow use mascara and liner to your advantage
  • NO TIME!? >>> swish on some Maybelline Colour tattoo :)
   Thanks guys!
Have a lovely promenade :)

English Vintage

Hi chummies :)

Today I come at you with a rather marvelous post (kept short and sweet!)
Around where Josie and I live is a very cute vintage shop, jam packed with some of the most lovely little dresses that you could very well imagine appearing in an old fashioned novella like Alice in Wonderland! The thing is with vintage, its great to browse and appreciate all these hand sewn creations but also you can find some really great buys if you have the time to dig around!

So why not have a nosy around your local vintage shop and keep open minded!

British guide : How to survive the hairdressers repost

Lets be honest, I think its safe to say that the Hairdressers is a place most of us least want to be. Everyone Ive spoken to agrees that a trip to the Hairdressers is never a successful one and is also more of chore. Speaking personally, if it wasn't for the fact Id end up looking like Yettie if I didn't go then I wouldn't go!!
I hate split ends, don't get me wrong! I am also quite composed when the hairdresser in question, gently massages the million dollar shampoo into my scalp but this will not make up for the fact that I usually leave the salon with half of hair missing.

So how do we plan on getting through this palaver.....

1) Before going into the hairdressers, make sure you've pre done your hair in the morning so they can see the type of look you want to leave with. (They usually NEVER take much notice of how you looked as you came in) They just want you to look like how they want you too.

2) Depending on what type of salon you visit, the receptionist (most of the time called something like "Brandi" or "Misha" ) will offer you a spiffing beverage! Always take up on the offer because its included in your bill and its polite... so just do it.

3) Part of going to the hairdressers is that you are going to have to deal with annoying convesations they stir up.
If your a small child you dont get much apart from a trim, a teenager and they ask the most stereotypical questions....

"What school do you go to?"
"What do you want to be?"
"Do you like being pampered?"

It doesnt matter what you say anyway... They couldnt care less and they'll forget who you are the next time you visit so dont worry.

4) If they bother to ask you what you want doing, tell them the opposite as they never seem to understand what you want and end up doing something else.

5) If the hairdresser is causing you pain in any way then I'm afraid your just going to have to grin and bear it! If you feel they are tugging the comb through your tresses or pulling their fingers through your locks pull a face which suggests you are in slight distress !

6) If you are somewhat unhappy with the finished outcome, I am afraid you can't say anything, so just go to the car, cry for a while and just hope that it grows back soon !

7) And finally... if you take away one thing from this post ALWAYS make sure you NEVER express your true thoughts on your new hairstyle. Taking a dislike will ruin your future hairdresser visits!

Good luck! Just keep smiling !

Nanna chic repost

Stereotypically, people think Nannas or Grandmothers array of clothing is stuck back in the 50s. There's something rather familiar about the outfits you see on the black and white films your Nanna tells you are marvellous l! BUT have you ever looked at what she wears with a different mind set? Maybe that cream woollen shawl she wears every day would look so glam matched with the latest oversized leather handbag or the large 'spectacles' with the paint peeling from the framing could look rather vintage whilst encasing your fake lashes OR even her 'william morris' patterned below the knee skirt would totally set off those 10 foot tall stilettos...
Take a look in her jumble sale and think of us whilst pulling that sour lemon face at her old feathered hat!

The oatmeal knit

Go on dig it out! Don't hide it away! Its waiting for you! Yep, you know what I'm talking about... the old knitted cardy your gran told you would look divine with your pair of denims! Well, she's right! It's going to look great! Take a peak... don't be scared... it won't be as awful as you think... trust me!

The mustard shawl.

Its the dreaded shawl you've always dreaded. The one that lurks around at the back of your cupboard. You remember the words your grandmother told you when she gave it to you ' I'll give you this as my little treat' A TREAT?! you thought... Well don't scare yourself with the morphed memories you have of it! I'm sure your views will change after a sneaky glance at this.

A little bit of tweed

When your Nanna gave you this tweet jacket to match hers for christmas your face dropped. But, don't go digging out the receipt that was tucked into the card. Keep it, Embrace it, Love it !

Pearls for Girls&Amber clusters.

Why not borrow your grannies little pearl earrings from years ago!? They are so trendy and sweet and can look so elegant with an updo! I'm pretty sure your nanna will have one lerking around in her colection of old earrings and necklaces!

Glossy Brogues

They are the in-thing! So, don't worry about feeling old and frumpy! They look lovely withs skirts, dresses and smart trousers and are perfectly versatile!!

Nana's Old Handbag

Why not get some use out of nanas old leather handbag! The chances are its pretty plain and big to fit her knitting or handy wet wipes in!!! Her bag can look Oh So Stylish so give it a go!!!

The winter warmer

Cream scarves match anything during the winter and im pretty sure you will love nannies knit!

Donut it up!

When grandma's hair 'donut' comes to mind. You immediately think... slicked back....tight...and well unstylish!! BUT it doesn't have to be that way! Donuts can look absolutely gorgeous when messed up a tad and the scraped back hair loosened... Take a look at this....

Hope you enjoyed this post ;) and took away some handy tips and styles xx
